Today, we’re covering what makes YOU so special.
You see, part of attracting clients is getting super visible. But it’s hard to be visible without a message that you uniquely own.
But before you jump into being super visible – via podcasts, speaking, advertising, guest blogging or some other means – it’s important to be really clear on what makes you special.
What makes you quirky? What gives your story spark? What’s an interesting nugget or tidbit that someone will connect with? What will interest people to want to listen to what you have to say?
For example:
Tidbit 1: I hate camping. With a passion.
Tidbit 2: I met my husband on match.com and we got engaged in 8 weeks (and married 9 months from the day we met).
Tidbit 3: A couple years ago, my neighbors called the cops when I had a bunch of friends over to play bunco.
I shared this recently in my webinar and interestingly each of these tidbits connected with people a lot. I had people sending me stories that were related (or trying to sell me on the benefits of camping – don't try. I really do hate it.)
What was fascinating was how people individually reacted to me as a human AND how that affected their desire to connect with me as a business person.
It’s so funny that in an hour-long webinar, the 3 minutes I took early on in my webinar connected so deeply with attendees.
And it’s led to clients, connection and laughs.
That’s what today is about for you.
Set your timer for 30 minutes and create a list of every story you can think of that covers any (or all) of these areas:
Getting visible and sharing interesting stories begins with remembering your OWN stories. Then paying attention to everyday life and finding nuggets to share that are uniquely your own perspective.
